Thompson Construction Group completed the structural and equipment foundation installation for Hybar, LLC’s Micro Mill facility in Osceola, Arkansas. The facility was designed to produce up to 630,000 tons of rebar annually using state-of-the-art technology and 100% renewable energy. It also includes the capability to produce #18 rebar, placing Hybar among a limited number of steel producers worldwide with this capacity.
Working under the direction of Lexicon, the project’s general contractor, TCG installed foundations for the Melt Shop and Rolling Mill buildings, along with critical process equipment including the Electric Arc Furnace, Ladle Metallurgical Furnace, Continuous Casting Machine, Fume Treatment Plant, and various maintenance and production areas. The project also included the placement of over 25,000 cubic yards of concrete, installation of nearly 3,000 tons of reinforcing steel, and more than 200,000 man-hours to support the successful execution of this large-scale industrial facility.
