Thompson Construction Group was awarded a contract to provide labor, equipment, and materials to detail, fabricate, supply, and construct approximately 161,000 square feet of shallow foundations to support the Gigabay facility at SpaceX Starbase in Brownsville, Texas.
Scope of work included general site work and grading, earthwork, pile installation, pile chipping, and baseplate grouting. The project also involved the installation and procurement of cast-in-place anchors, as well as construction of the finished floor slab and placement of base and fill materials.
The work was executed to support critical infrastructure for one of the most advanced aerospace manufacturing and launch sites in the United States.
